As an organization, we are dedicated to virtually eliminating consumer harm in this industry and empowering and equipping businesses with the tools and resources they need to better assist and advocate for their clients. We are actively involved in grassroots lobbying and outreach to both lawmakers and regulators, and were the first to create best practices protocols and policies to govern the industry.
Our membership is comprised of companies across several verticals, including credit repair, debt settlement, credit counseling, bankruptcy, tax resolution, and student loan assistance. Each member company is thoroughly vetted and given access to training content designed to empower them to become certified consumer financial advocates.
In addition to our focus on consumer protection, OCCAM is also dedicated to ensuring the integrity and trustworthiness of our member businesses. We have a zero tolerance complaint policy and work with state and federal agencies to identify and eliminate bad actors who seek only to enrich themselves at the expense of consumers.
As part of our commitment to excellence, we have outreach committees focused on various areas of the industry, including technology, marketing, and legal affairs. These committees allow us to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments and ensure that our members are equipped with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed.
We are also actively engaged in grassroots government advocacy, working to educate policymakers and regulators on the importance of ethical and compliant practices in the consumer financial hardship industry.
