Webinar: How Librarians Can Engage in Elder Fraud Prevention [library resources]—consumerfinance.gov

In this webinar, information is presented about resources that libraries can provide to serve their older patrons and caregivers. The presentation includes information from the CFPB Office for Older Americans on opportunities for collaboration to help prevent and respond to the financial exploitation of older people. Two Legal Services representatives of Montana’s Elder Fraud Prevention and Response Network discuss their experience of collaborating with libraries to provide legal information relevant to the needs of older patrons. In addition, a librarian provides insights into her work to raise awareness of elder fraud and exploitation in the community and has extensive expertise with dementia-friendly library programs for older patrons and family caregivers.
